Day 1: Arrival in Mikumi National Park You will be met by your guide at your hotel or Arusha Airport for a scenic drive to Mikumi National Park, approximately 5-6 hours from Arusha. Upon arrival, check into your lodge or camp for an afternoon rest. Mikumi is Tanzania’s fourth-largest national park, known for its diverse wildlife, stunning landscapes, and accessibility. After lunch, you’ll head out for an afternoon game drive, offering the first glimpse of the park’s wildlife. You’ll likely encounter herds of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and various antelope species, as well as the park’s resident predators such as lions, leopards, and wild dogs. The day ends with a sundowner in the bush, followed by dinner at the lodge. Day 2: Full Day Safari in Mikumi After a hearty breakfast, head out for a full day of exploration in Mikumi National Park. The park offers an exceptional variety of landscapes—from the floodplains of the Mkata River to the savannah plains and dense miombo woodlands. Expect to see large populations of elephants, zebras, and giraffes. The open grasslands of Mikumi are also home to lions and cheetahs, often seen basking in the sun or hunting prey. During the game drive, enjoy a packed lunch in the park, and continue exploring the park’s diverse ecosystems. After an exciting day of wildlife viewing, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 3: Drive to Zanzibar & Explore Stone Town After an early breakfast, drive back to Dar es Salaam (approximately 5 hours) and catch a flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, transfer to your hotel and check in before heading out to explore Stone Town, the historic heart of Zanzibar. This UNESCO World Heritage site is full of charming narrow streets, vibrant markets, and significant landmarks such as the House of Wonders, The Sultan’s Palace, and the spice farms. Learn about the island’s rich history, including its influence from Arab, Portuguese, and British colonialists. In the evening, enjoy dinner in one of Stone Town’s iconic seafood restaurants with views of the Indian Ocean. Day 4: Relaxing on Zanzibar’s Beaches On your final day, leave behind the hustle of Stone Town and head to the beaches of Zanzibar for some well-deserved relaxation. Whether you choose the tranquil beaches of Nungwi, Paje, or Kendwa, you can spend the day lounging on the white sands, swimming in the warm turquoise waters, or engaging in various water activities such as snorkeling, diving, or a traditional dhow cruise. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your guide from Parks Tours. Transfer to your hotel in Arusha for check-in and relaxation. Accommodation: Overnight at a comfortable lodge or hotel in Arusha. Meals: Dinner at the hotel. Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park Morning: After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most diverse wildlife parks. Known for its iconic baobab trees and large elephant herds, the park offers a unique safari experience. Safari: Enjoy a full-day game drive through Tarangire, spotting elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, and a variety of birdlife. Accommodation: Overnight at a lodge or camp inside or near the park. Day 3: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park Morning: After an early breakfast, drive towards the famous Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s most iconic game reserve. The journey takes you through the beautiful Ngorongoro Highlands and along the way, you may spot wildlife in the open plains. Safari: Enjoy an afternoon game drive upon arrival in the Serengeti. Serengeti is known for the Great Migration (from May to October), and you will have the opportunity to witness this phenomenon if your trip coincides with it. Accommodation: Overnight at a Serengeti lodge or luxury camp, offering comfort in the heart of the park. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the lodge/camp. Day 4: Serengeti National Park Morning & Afternoon Safari: Explore the Serengeti with a full day of game drives. The Serengeti is famous for its exceptional predator-prey dynamics, with lions, cheetahs, leopards, and wildebeests all interacting within the park’s vast savannah.
